Indirect Object Pronouns with ayudar (me ayuda a...)

With ayudar, Spanish often uses an indirect object pronoun to show who receives the help: me, te, le, nos, les. A common pattern is [thing] + me ayuda a + infinitive to describe what the tool helps you do.

Examples

El molde me ayuda a repetir la misma forma siempre.

The mold helps me repeat the same shape every time.

La regla me ayuda a medir cada lado.

The ruler helps me measure each side.

La goma me ayuda a borrar las marcas del lápiz.

The eraser helps me erase pencil marks.

Tip

Put the pronoun right before the conjugated verb: me ayuda, te ayuda, le ayuda.
